Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism highlighted the capital’s culinary diversity and world class cuisine that ran from 31st of October to 14th of December 2019 across the city.
The culinary season celebrated Abu Dhabi’s global food influences, world-class restaurants and celebrity chefs and offered delicious deals and foodie-centric events. The one month long food season attracted residents and international visitors alike and featured three main culinary events; Mega Mela, Taste of Abu Dhabi and World of Food Abu Dhabi.
The Tastemaster Series set off the season with Michelin starred chefs who created signature meals for diners in intimate and interactive setting, this ran from 30th October - 14th December.
Was the largest cultural gathering in the UAE of its kind, from themes to historic traditions guests were able to find the East celebrated with the same zest at du Arena, Yas Island.
The three-day event hosted a range of signature activities and features as well as celebrated the biggest and brightest festival of lights “Diwali”.
A blend of the best of art, craft, dance, music and theatre, the 3-day festival is only just a glimpse of the treasure the country carries.

Festival goers were served taster-size signature dishes, whilst world-class celebrity chefs cooked up a storm live on-stage and, as always, there were many opportunities for guests to get hands-on with interactive masterclasses and shoped from an array of local and international food & drink vendors.
Taste of Abu Dhabi 2019, was bigger and better than ever before! We hosted over 15,000 visitors and the festivities kicked off on 7th November. The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi will pioneer the first Gahwa Championships in the UAE capital in December 2019. Building on the success of its Bait Al Gahwa initiative, which aims to document and protect Gahwa as an essential element of Emirati culture, the Championships will test the knowledge and practice of competitors from across the region in areas such as the heritage of Gahwa; bean selection and roasting; and Gahwa preparation and serving. Abu Dhabi Date Palm Exhibition Trade Event
